Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today announced the launch of
a group health insurance program for grain producers who are suppliers
of ADM. The Partners in Production insurance program is being offered
through Agri-Services Agency.
“The high cost of healthcare is one of the biggest challenges farmers
and their families face,” said Matt Jansen, president, Grain Group. “ADM
is the first grain originator to offer access to a health insurance
program like this, which reflects our commitment to helping meet the
needs of farmers.”
Eligible growers can choose from a variety of individual and family
plans, including traditional, PPO and high-deductible. The program is
available in the following states: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan,
Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. It will
eventually be expanded to cover additional states.
In addition to providing health insurance access, the program also
provides growers the opportunity to lower their health insurance premium
by offering ADM bushels of grain.
