Lion Nathan New Zealand has recognized Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE:
ADM) with its Platinum Quality Award. ADM Malting New Zealand Ltd.
received the award for its product development support of Steinlager
Pure, a new 100 percent malt beer.
“We are pleased to be recognized with Lion’s Platinum Quality Award,”
said Steven J. Furcich, president of ADM Malting. “Providing ongoing
technical support to strategic partners such as Lion Breweries is one of
our highest priorities.”
ADM received the award for its work toward optimizing malt
specifications of a particular variety of barley – Fairview – to Lion’s
product development work. Lion Breweries presented the Platinum Quality
Award at its annual Lion Nathan Supplier Dinner in June.
ADM re-entered the malting business in 2006 after purchasing Lesaffre’s
50 percent interest in International Malting Company (IMC). IMC was
renamed ADM Malting Company and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of ADM.
ADM Malting operates malting plants in Australia, Canada, New Zealand
and the United States. Today, it is one of the world’s leading suppliers
of quality malt to the brewing, distilling and food industries.
