CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today began celebrating the
company’s 10th annual Global Safety and Health Week, a
week-long global event dedicated to reflecting on each location’s safety
accomplishments and hosting events and meetings to help focus on areas
where improvements are possible.
Since 2006, ADM has reduced recordable incidents by 66 percent and
lost-work day incidents by 89 percent. 2015 was the safest year in ADM’s
history.
“We are proud that safety and our Global Safety and Health Week
activities have truly become a cornerstone of our culture, but our work
won’t be complete until we have eliminated 100 percent of the incidents
and injuries companywide,” said ADM Chairman and CEO Juan Luciano. “We
have an ongoing journey to zero, and taking time to reflect on what
we’ve done well and also what we can do better in the future is an
important step towards realizing that goal.”
