CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) helped put food on the tables
of many in need this year by contributing more than $390,000 to local
food banks across the United States, including $350,000 in monetary and
in-kind donations and more than $40,000 in matching contributions from
ADM colleagues.
“As one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food
ingredient companies, our purpose is to serve vital needs, and hunger
relief is one of the most vital needs for many people around the world,”
said Mark Bemis, president, North America for ADM. “As we focus heavily
on food this week during Thanksgiving celebrations here in the U.S., ADM
is committed to doing our part to help neighbors in need in the
communities where our employees live and work.”
The contributions were given through ADM Cares. ADM Cares is a social
investment program that directs funds to initiatives and organizations
that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress
worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting
the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of
life in ADM communities and fostering employee giving and volunteer
activities.
